Client self-service: How can modern technology enable clients in their journey back to work in their own time?

The policy forum brought together MacCaLM, Ingeus and the UK’s Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to discuss the use of technology for enabling clients to independently achieve their goals. A special focus was placed on helping job seekers. The discussion centred on rolling out the successful experiment run at Edinburgh University on online advice, to all Universal Credit claimants. The forum participants’ response was enthusiastic and the discussion brought forward the potential benefits of extending the experimental tool to the entirety of the UK job market. The immediate next steps of the project will involve scaling the tool to clients of Ingeus.
